Roary the Lion colouring competition winners announced

colouring competition winner designs

Entries in our Lions on the Loose Colouring competition were judged by artist Sarah Emily Porter who designed our own Roary Lion.

The competition was open to children of Qualis Property Solutions employees and the winners are 6-year-old Amber with Summer Smiles and 10-year-old Ettie-May with Roar and Draw.

“It was very, very difficult to pick a winner as they were all so fab,” said Sarah. “But I loved the colourful line work for the legs and mane on Amber’s Summer Smiles -which certainly put a smile on my face! Huge congratulations to Amber.

“On Ettie-Mae’s entry Roar and Draw I loved the colourful intricate repeating pattern which looked really effective contrasted with the minimal lion’s mane. It was also very beautifully coloured in – very neat for so many colours and such small shapes! A big congratulations to Ettie-Mae.

“The Lion’s all look FANTASTIC! What a fabulous effort by everyone involved and I particularly enjoyed some of the very creative names like the Mysterious Blood thirsty lion who loves cats!”

Roary is Qualis’ sponsored lion for St Clare Hospice Lions on the Loose art trail, which for eight weeks starting on 24 July will see a pride of majestic lion sculptures roaming the streets, parks and open spaces of Harlow and Epping – each one individually decorated by a talented artist and sponsored by a local business or organisation.

The lion, a symbol of strength, courage, and unity, embodies the values of St Clare Hospice and the spirit of the communities it serves across West Essex and the borders of East Herts.

Sponsorship of the Qualis Property Solutions Lion was through the company’s Community Benefit Fund.

In September the lion sculptures will be auctioned at the hospice’s Mane Event to raise vital funds for the charity.
