Qualis Property Solutions’ partnership with Crystal Clear Window Works is providing a sustainable, cost-effective and innovative solution for repairing failed or misted double-glazed windows across Epping Forest District Council’s housing portfolio.
Using a specially developed process, Crystal Clear removes condensation from between the panes, restoring the clarity and thermal performance of the glass without removing or replacing the units. This process allows for quick repairs from the outside (often without needing the customer to be present), avoids waste and reduces carbon emissions – with most repairs completed in just one visit.
Delivering for our customers
Since launching in January 2023, the partnership has delivered significant results:
- 70.4% of damaged glazing units (943 out of 1,340) successfully repaired instead of replaced
- c.£50,000 in cost savings — a 44% reduction over standard replacement
- 31.1 tonnes of glass waste avoided
- 33.9 tonnes of CO₂ emissions prevented
- 541 property work orders completed
- 68% of repairs resolved on the first visit
This marks a major shift in how responsive glazing maintenance is delivered – focusing on repair rather than replacement, improving customer experience and aligning with our sustainability goals.
Ben Johnson, Managing Director at Qualis Property Solutions said:
