Qualis Commercial has submitted its planning application to build 28 quality new homes on the site of the former Waltham Abbey Swimming Pool.

A set of updated plans have been developed following consultation with the local community. The development proposals are for 22, two bedroom and six, three bedroom houses. All of the properties will benefit from a private garden with rear access and designated parking space.

Simon Rutter, Managing Director of Qualis Commercial comments, “We would like to thank everyone who took the time to either attend the webinar presentations or viewed our consultation website. We had 3,782 visits to the site and 281 specific contributions were received.

We have taken on board comments raised during the consultation process and have adapted our original plans to include additional visitor parking spaces. We have also increased the number of electric vehicle charging points.

The development has been designed framing a well landscaped street with natural planting and integrated areas of community space for outdoor play and seating.

The homes will benefit from enhanced sustainability performance including renewable heating, high levels of insulation and have been designed to be photo voltaic ready.

The overall site biodiversity will be enhanced through a combination of new tree planting, rainwater capture, bat and bird boxes, natural habitats and integrated pedestrian and cycle routes that connect existing links through and around the site.
