We’re proud to announce the appointment of Brian Johnson as the new Chair of the Qualis Group Board and Non-Executive Director. Brian joins with a wealth of experience and knowledge that will be crucial in the future development of the Qualis Group.
When speaking about his appointment Brain said: “I am proud to be part of Qualis and aid the team in meeting the council’s objectives to support the district of Epping Forest. The work that is carried out by Qualis and Epping Forest Direct Council is vital to help create new jobs, improve the local area, and in turn boost the local economy.
“I’m looking forward to bringing all the knowledge and experience that I have built over my career to Qualis and the Epping District, and to seeing the benefits Qualis bring to the local community.”
Brian started his career at Imperial Chemical Industries (ICI) after graduating from Cambridge University with a degree in chemical engineering. Following a short spell in Tate and Lyle, he moved to Remploy for 4 years, a company employing 6,000 disabled people in its extensive manufacturing activities around 80 UK sites, where he was Operations Director.
After Remploy, Brian’s career then moved to the affordable housing sector where he was CEO of three different companies, most recently Metropolitan, over a 13 year period. Over five years, he led a team that turned around Metropolitan from near collapse to a sector high performer, substantially increasing annual profits and re-establishing a large new build programme.
Brian retired from the UK Maritime and Coastguard Agency in October 2022 where he was CEO for four years.
