Qualis Commercial is pleased to confirm that the new car park at Cottis Yard will be opening this Thursday, 2 November. This state-of-the-art, 330 space car park marks a major milestone in the future plans for the local area.
Following the opening, the temporary car park on St John’s Road and the car park on Baker’s Lane will remain open for a short overlap period, to allow for users to become more familiar with the new car parking arrangement.
Both the St John’s Road and Bakers Lane car parks will be permanently closed from the 14th November 2023.
This date is fixed in accordance with our planning obligations, both in terms of the number of spaces available within the town centre at one time, and also the temporary use permitted at St John’s.
We also pleased to announce that Cottis Yard has been awarded a Park Mark Accreditation, making it part of the National Safer Park Scheme. Throughout its design and development, Cottis Yard has been rigorously assessed against the high standards required, which strive to ensure the safety of people and vehicles using the facility.
In conjunction with the opening, the landscaped community area alongside the all-new Cottis Yard will also be accessible to the public. Future plans for this area are still to be finalised, but for now we hope that the community will enjoy using the facilities provided and the symbolic floor designs which echo the sites industrial past.
