Epping resident Jake Evans has been shortlisted in the Rising Star award category at the prestigious National Housing Maintenance Forum (NHMF). The award celebrates emerging talent and recognises the achievements of the asset management sector’s future leaders.

Jake began his career as a fresh faced 18-year-old working with Epping Forest District Council as a multi-skilled apprentice. In the ten years since, Jake not only has completed his apprenticeship, but has qualified and worked as a plumber before moving to Qualis Property Solutions in 2021. At just 28 years old, he now oversees a team of around 50 staff in his role as Senior Operations Manager.

Managing Director of Qualis Property Solutions Ben Johnson nominated Jake for the award and explained why he deserved to win.

“Jake is one of the most self-motivated people you will ever meet.  His drive and energy to “get things right” for the benefit of the customer is infectious. At the age of 28, he has worked incredibly hard to achieve progression, in such a short period of time. He just gets things done,” he said.

“The route to success has taken a lot of hard work, commitment and determination and we are thrilled therefore that his efforts have been recognised by the National Housing Maintenance Forum” he added.

Commenting on his nomination, Jake said:

“I was surprised but thrilled to find out I had been nominated – and shortlisted – for this award! Qualis has provided me the support and opportunity to grow and progress inside our industry. I hope this nomination will encourage other organisations to continue supporting individuals who aspire to develop and improve.”

The winners of the NHMF awards will be announced on 23 January 2024.
