Gardenia Court time-lapse video reveals extent of transformation

We love a transformation! Watch our latest time-lapse video to see start to near completion of the first 10 homes at Gardenia Court within the wider 182-home Verdant Place development.

Built on the site of the former council depot at the southern end of Epping High Street, the new homes are giving a new lease of life to an area that has been left dormant for several years. Renewing these locations, known as brownfield sites, helps meet the demand for new homes without having to extend development into the Green Belt.

Construction of the 10 homes started just over a year ago and the first residents are looking forward to moving in this spring.

Before and after

The images below show the site over the years, from the old dairy to the council depot and today, with the new homes nearly complete.

Overcoming challenges

Project Manager Darran Telling highlighted the challenges of working on brownfield sites such as these.

“Developing a brownfield, town centre site presents plenty of challenges – access, remediation and limiting the impact of our neighbours, to name a few, – but we’ve overcome these to deliver 10 fantastic homes right in the heart of Epping town centre,” he said.

“We’re really proud of what we’ve achieved and excited to see the first residents move in over the next few months.”
