Guides from the 1st Roydon Brownie & Guide Unit spent an exciting activity day at Chigwell Row Campsite, made possible by a generous grant from Qualis Community Benefit Fund.
The event, designed to foster health, wellbeing, and social connection, brought together Guides of all ages for a day packed with adventure, learning, and fun.
Despite Roydon Guides being a small group, they experienced the excitement of being part of the wider Girlguiding family. They took part in a wide range of activities, including water zorbing, go-karting, rifle shooting, axe throwing, archery, wall climbing, golf, and a variety of bouncy castles.
The grant enabled the unit to subsidise entrance fees, ensuring that every girl could attend regardless of financial circumstances.
The journey itself was an adventure, as the girls navigated public transport from Epping to Grange Hill, learned to use Young Person Oyster Cards, and read maps to reach the campsite. Upon arrival, they set up their own tent and home base, encouraging independence and teamwork.

The success of the day was measured by the girls’ enthusiasm and enjoyment.
The Roydon Brownie & Guide Unit extends a heartfelt thank you to the Qualis Community Benefit Fund for making this unforgettable day possible.
