This week marks National Apprenticeship Week and as a committed local employer, Qualis Management is providing three exciting apprenticeship opportunities for those wishing to embark on a rewarding career in the industry.

Apprenticeships are available to anyone aged 16 or over and combine working with studying to gain skills and knowledge in a specific job. Apprentices spend 20% of their working hours on ‘off the job’ training which could involve studying at home, attending a training provider, college or university or work shadowing in your workplace. The remainder of the time is spent within the company gaining highly relevant experience within the team.

Ben Johnson, Managing Director of Qualis Management comments, “National Apprenticeship Week is a fantastic opportunity for businesses to showcase the range of apprenticeship opportunities we have available as well as raising the profile of the importance of apprentices in every business.

“Working with New City College, we have a number of apprentice roles available which are ideal for anyone looking for a great career.”

National Apprenticeship Week, which is in its 16th year, brings together businesses and apprentices from across the country to shine a light on the positive impact that apprenticeships make to individuals, businesses, and the wider economy.

Stanley joined Qualis Management in October as a plumbing apprentice. He says, “my first four months have been enjoyable, and I have built good relationships with my colleagues. Working as an apprentice with Qualis will provide me with the experience I need to complete my college course and gain skills which will help me develop my career as a plumber in the future.

“I have enjoyed working with the multiple trades teams and have developed a greater knowledge of practical skills needed to undertake my role already. I have recently begun installing new showers under the supervision of my mentor Terry, who has helped me to gain enough confidence to carry out tasks on my own in such a short period.”

Qualis Management is currently offering the following apprenticeships:

  • Domestic Heating Engineer
  • Carpenter
  • Business Administration

Recently Qualis Management attended the Ninefields Recruitment Fair, in partnership with Epping Forest District Council, other public sector organisations and trading providers. The aim of the event was to showcase employment available locally to residents and to provide different pathways into new employment.

The company also supported Year 11 students from King Harold Academy on a mock interview day before Christmas. Students had the opportunity to produce CVs and covering letters before meeting the team for interviews, where they were given interview techniques and feedback on their CVs and covering letters, as well as how well they interviewed.
