New industrial units set to regenerate the area, create new jobs and boost the economy

Qualis Commercial has completed construction of four new high-specification industrial units on the Brooker Road Industrial Estate in Waltham Abbey. Known as Waltham Connect, the units have been completed on time and to budget.

Waltham Connect is part of a programme of works to breathe new life into the industrial estate. The units offer high-quality space suitable for a range of light industrial activities and are located within minutes Junction 26 of the M25 and three miles of the A10. Waltham Cross overground station can also be reached in three miles providing quick and regular trains into London.

“These high specification units at Waltham Connect will attract new enterprise into the Brooker Road Industrial Estate, creating more jobs and boosting the local economy,” said Qualis Commercial Head of Development Jennifer Currier.

“The new units are also an investment into the wider industrial estate and existing businesses, making the whole area a more appealing place to operate.”

The four lightweight frame units range in size from 5,800 to 22,100sqft. Each unit offers BREEAM ‘Very Good’, EPC A+ and ‘Secure By Design’ commercial certification. The BREEAM rating of a building is a sustainability performance measure considered from the early design stages and throughout the whole life of the building.

Construction of the new units began in November 2023 following demolition of the former units on site, which had fallen into disrepair. Practical completion was achieved for the first of the four units in spring 2024, with the final units completed this month.

Qualis Commercial is now turning its attention to other sites within the Brooker Road Industrial Estate. Working in partnership with Epping Forest District Council, it is progressing redevelopment proposals for two further sites within the estate.

“We look forward to working with the Council, the existing tenants and the local community to help us shape this next phase of investment into the Brooker Road Industrial Estate,” said Jennifer.
